Four Year old Fish !!

Can we believe it?! No!
Eight Eyed Sea Bass is now four years old today. Where has the time gone?

Not much more to say other than how pleased we are to have made it this far. Now, time for a curry and a pint….

Keep well, all.

Oldbury UK tender

Engineering extraordinaires, Oldbury UK, gave us call about a video that they urgently needed creating. They were working on a specific piece of mobility hardware, as part of their work for a tender.

This tender for a very important national agency required that any applicant’s entry be demonstrated to be set up, ready to perform its function, within a specific time limit.

Naturally we cannot divulge any more information, due to us not wanting breach any confidentiality, or possibly let any of their competitors see their excellent handywork.

Regardless, the people at Oldbury were pleased that we’d managed to go and film their product, make a video presentation, printed DVD copies, with printed CDs also, delivered via a same-day courier the next day to them to meet their deadline.

Pretty sweet. We wish the best of luck to Oldbury UK and hope that they win the contract!

X-Factor

Niki Evans, an X-Factor contestant from 2007 is releasing her debut single, Love Me No More, and like all good singles, she needed a music video.

A team of people helped her with the production of this, and out of the blue, we received a phone call here at Eight Eyed Sea Bass HQ. Niki needed this footage to be edited….

So we took shipment of a myriad of tapes, and got it into our editing system.

While the footage was actually quite limited, we were able to put together a complete video, grade it, and then finally add a tiny touch of subtle spangle.

The client was very pleased with what we have managed to achieve and the video has now been made public.

Animation Forum WM interview

The man behind the Animation Forum West Midlands (that’ll be David Luke Allen, that will) popped in for a special brew of tea a few days ago – as he had decided we were worthy of an interview!
Thanks also to Chris Unitt of Created In Birmingham for picking up on this before we did!

Acorns Children’s Hospice

Design consultants Whitehouse Mainwaring brought EESB onboard with a project of theirs for the Acorns Children’s Hospice.

As part of a web page where people can make donations, their client wanted a cat, a mascot of some flavour, to walk on screen, thank the donator, and then perform other actions. We were provided with a PDF file of the cat, which we took in to Illustrator and broke into parts. After this we were about to create 2D animation of the cat, and provide the chaps at Whitehouse Mainwaring a SWF (Flash) file for them to integrate into the page.

The team there were all very happy to see how we’d brought their image to life!

Screen WM

We recently completed a job for Screen West Midlands, which was further work to their annual self-run Digishorts project – a project where they fund the making of a number of films created by local film makers.

The requirement on our part was to capture all the films from Digibeta, create subtitles, and re-export to Digibeta tapes and DVDs.

We were happy to be involved and trusted by SWM in this job that sounds extremely simple, but actually involved us making some fixes to problems in the films, while retaining maximum quality. In EESB’s case, that meant no quality lost whatsoever.

BCU Green Design

Â

We were finally able to wrap up this project for Birmingham City University in time for the event Grand Designs Live.

BCU had asked us to make a slightly different version of their video for this event, slightly more aimed at this audience.

We are reliably informed that the video has gone down very well, after we sought to create something quite different from the usual style of video that BCU has. After the event, we received a very nice email from our client thanking us for all our hard work.

Aww, makes ya feel all fuzzy inside, doesn’t it?!
