Ducati 1098 at Brands Hatch

It was with some excitement that ad agency, The Gyst, returned to EESB once again, to revamp some of the work we’ve been helping with.

We were asked to put together a 15 second commercial of the new Ducati flagship model of V-twin superbike goodness, the 1098. See the 2-wheeled wonderment here.

Not only was it fantastic to be part of a project of a subject matter that all Eight Eyed Sea Bass crew members love, but the commercial is also to be shown frequently at the famous and historic racing circuit, Brands Hatch.

Well, shake me silly with a tank slapper (from a much lesser motorcycle of course).

Shiny Ball….

Exactly what it says on the tin; a shiny ball.

I had a spare hour while a project was cooking in the background on my workstation yesterday, so thought I’d indulge myself in some surfacing, lighting, radiosity and reflection object testing – you know, it’s always good to keep one’s practice nice and sharp when it comes to these things.

Ok, I’m a geek and I get off on these things. It stops me breaking out into rounds of Kraftwerk’s ‘Tour De France’ and bothering the neighbours. They’re very happy that I can find alternative means of amusement, ask them.

On closer inspection of the object – it turns out that it may come in useful for something we have planned for the not so distant future. Well, I never.

Keep well all, more soon.

Prep for Kids TV animation

We were quite excited to submit a bit of animation work to a new client yesterday.

This little piece, which we cannot name or show as yet, was used to show a client that we could create their 3D animation for a project they are doing.

The client hopes that their project will make it on to television and beyond as an animated series aimed at young children. We may be creating their pilot episode, and if that goes well, we could be doing the full series.

So, wish us luck – as this is one project we would really love to do!! If we do get it, it would be a good way to show what can be done in Birmingham.

Spinning discs for The Duke.

‘The Duke’ being Ducati, of course.

EESB were recently commissioned by The Gyst – Ducati’s advertising agency, to create a batch of DVD-Video discs featuring the 2008 motorcycle models from the Italian outfit.

The received footage underwent some editing and music alterations before the final master was authored.

This job had me a bit worked up; being the keen biker, and Ducati fan that I am – The Dommo had to aquavac my face several times to stop me drooling into my workstation while editing.

More soon, keep well all.

Skills for Health – in progress

Hello everyone!

Just a quick post to say that once again the great, great @Warblefly Productions have brought us in once more to edit their video for Skills For Health for the STEPS Young Apprentice programme.

Having been filmed in HD, we’re impressing everybody with our high-end editing system’s real-time high definition chromakeying which is working nicely to take interviewees from their green-screen backdrops.

We should be wrapping this up very soon and have it online for viewing.

Until then, keep well.
